The symbol on the label is the Egyptian Ankh
The name Anaperenna has been inspired by Anna Perenna, the Roman goddess of the New Year. Anna Perenna symbolises the year's cycle and her name translates as 'enduring year'. Romans honoured Anna Perenna with a festival held on the first full moon of the Roman calendar. On March 15th they would ask Anna to grant them longevity, and a healthy year for each glass of wine they drank on that day.

Robert Parker Wine Advocate 96 Points The 2020 Anaperenna Shiraz-Cabernet Sauvignon pours an iridescent magenta in the glass. On the nose, there are layers of sweet vanilla oak, raspberries at the height of the season, fresh licorice root, star anise, fresh cut fennel and cracked black peppercorns. In the mouth, the wine is silky, full-bodied and unfurling – the quality of the fruit sourcing shines through as the flavors linger on the finish. There’s a brightness and energy here that I have found in many of the 2020 reds from Barossa (which is interesting, given the continuation of low yields and drought conditions, suggesting perhaps clever, adaptive viticulture at the fore). There’s a friskiness that suggests a decant would be highly advisable. This is a ripper of a wine. Erin Larkin, April 2023 Week 1, The Wine Advocate, USA, www.robertparker.com
James Suckling 93 Points Aromas of red and black cherry, leather, bark and black licorice. Full-bodied with silky tannins. Rich and opulent on the palate, with very good concentration and intensity. Well structured and needs a bit more time to come together. Best after 2024.
James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion 95 Points A polished, glossy rendition of the great Australian blend from Ben Glaetzer. Wonderfully pure blackberry and plum fruits with a touch of blueberry lift, melding with deep spice, licorice, Old Jamaica chocolate and earth. Cedary oak flows in on the palate before retreating back into the fruit which shines brightly throughout. Tannins are gravelly and long and there is a sense of freshness to its form. Self assured and wonderfully pure drinking.
The Frenchman Says "This Anaperenna powerhouse charges in like Barossa intensity, erupting with cassis depth, plum richness, and a cedary spice tease — full, structured, and boldly elegant, it leaves you impressed and eager for another commanding sip."
