Morgante Nero d'Avola
Morgante is a family-run estate in southern Sicily (near Agrigento, in the hills west of the Valley of the Temples), where the Morgante family has generations of grape-growing expertise and began bottling their own wines in the mid-1990s under the guidance of renowned consultant Riccardo Cotarella. The flagship Nero d'Avola is 100% estate-grown from vines in calcareous soils at elevations of 1200-1800 feet, where the grape achieves optimal ripeness. Fermented traditionally and aged briefly to preserve fruit purity, this wine showcases Sicily's signature bold, ripe character balanced by freshness and silky tannins - approachable yet structured, with excellent value. Pair with grilled meats, pasta with ragù, spicy sausages, or aged cheeses.
