Pierro Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 'LTC'

Pierro Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 'LTC'

Summary Pierro L.T.C Semillon Sauvignon Blanc (often with a small "little touch" of Chardonnay for texture) is a classic Margaret River white from the iconic Pierro estate in Western Australia. Blended from Semillon (for structure and longevity), Sauvignon Blanc (for bright aromatics), and a dash of Chardonnay, it's sourced from premium estate vineyards and fermented in stainless steel or with subtle oak to balance freshness and subtle complexity. This elegant, dry wine captures Margaret River's cool-climate precision with citrus, green fruit, and minerality—crisp yet textured, with excellent aging potential (5-10+ years). Versatile and highly regarded, pair with seafood, poultry, creamy pastas, goat cheese, or Asian dishes.

A classic isn’t just something that is famous or distinctive from a past era. It’s something that continues to be relevant and useful outside the specific time it was created. In 1979 Mike Peterkin produced Australia’s first Semillon Sauvignon Blanc. Working at Cullen’s at the time, the wine went on to win a trophy at the Perth Royal Show. He never claimed any originality for the idea, he simply borrowed it from the French. In 1980 he was so convinced of the blend’s potential in Margaret River he devoted a third of the Pierro plantings to the varieties. The L.T.C. has been judged over the last 40 years as not only the first, but as the one of the best in its class. A wine of place, of time and of the people who brought the style to Australia. Expert Review "This is routinely one of the great wines of Margaret River. It's a quiet wine and perhaps doesn't get the public recognition that it deserves... concentrated and focused; completely balanced and refreshing. A stunning rendition of the LTC, the acidity is juicy and chewy." – James Halliday / Wine Companion (aligned with recent vintages like 2020-2023; consistent praise for precision, drive, and textural volume)

The Frenchman Says "This Margaret River LTC slips into the glass like a crisp coastal dawn, blooming with zesty citrus, green apple snap, and a cheeky sugar snap pea herbal tease — lively, textured, and impeccably balanced, it leaves you refreshed, enchanted, and scheming for another elegant pour."
